This could have been so much better...bottle was not as good as past ones. Maybe I was particularly sensitive tonight, but the oak treatment was a little too overwhelming for me. The fruit, acidity, structure and texture of this wine are great, but the oak (showing via classic vanilla flavors) is just killing the rest. The bad news is that I think the oak is showing increasingly as the fruit keeps fading. My hopes of the oak integrating are very, very low a this stage.
