2006 Pierre Sparr Riesling Reserve (France, Alsace, Alsace AOC)

Another winner. Although I wasn't completely enamored with a decent Sparr Gewuerz recently, this wine really showed well. It was bone-dry, but pulled the dryness off with nice fruit and without being too alcoholic (which is a feature I have noticed in many German whites that are fully dry). Cut flowers, apple and pear, minerals, and some cur grass on the palate. Finishes very well. Clearly a very good dry Riesling that is in a style I can absolutely recommend.
