2001 Domaine Pierre Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Even better than my last bottle. Young looking garnet red. Garrigue, dried herbs, earth and chocolate ganache on the nose. Generous long on the palate with fantastic cherry and plum and a finish that just won't quit. Great structure and fruit left, and this has at least 5-10 more years in the tank. Pierre Usseglio is my favorite maker of CdP cuvee tradition as their basic cuvee is often as good or better than the high end cuvees from other producers. A wine to be bought by the case.
