2004 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Weir Vineyard (USA, California, North Coast, Yorkville Highlands)

Popped and poured. This is still in a fairly big style, but no heat or obtrusive alcohol. Most nights, this would not be my choice of wine, but with fresh Alaskan sockeye salmon last night, this was a great pairing. Nose is big and redolent with berry, cherry, and five-spice. Good sappy fruit and structure, and plenty of acidity to keep the wine fresh. Good finish. I can definitely recommend this wine.
