2003 Walter Hansel Winery Pinot Noir Hirsch Block 3 (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast)

Classic Sonoma Coast. Dark fruit profile with loads of intensity. This wine at age six has rounded though, so it's drinking well. One of the cleanest 2003s from Stephen in that the fruit is laser focused and the wine lacks the typical animale that I often get in his RRV bottlings. Either way, this wine has good texture and finishes well. Firmly in its drinking window. Went well with Fresh Coho Salmon, but less so by itself after dinner. A food wine for sure.
