2003 Clos Rougeard (Foucault) Saumur-Champigny (France, Loire Valley, Anjou-Saumur, Saumur-Champigny)

This is singing right now. Somewhat closed and shut once I popped and poured, but with 30 minutes of air, this is a remarkable wine. Great structure, acid, balance, and smokey fruit. All wrapped into an amazingly silky texture that is reminiscent of burgundy except there's this leafy tobacco and black and red currant fruit. Long, long finish, and it's got many years of improvement ahead of it. This is silly good.
