2003 Clos du Mont Olivet Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Unique (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

This is nice. Kind of a tight nose that doesn't yield much, but what does peek through is a mixture of raspberry, leather, and wood. Much better and expressive on the palate, where this shines with some nice red fruit, and plenty of garrigue and earthiness followed by a full, plump finish. I do think this is a particularly backward style in this vintage for a basic cuvee. It's very good, but falls short of outstanding right now due to its being slightly closed. Revisit in a few years.
