Popped and given some air and time in the glass. Starts out being sweet and plush, but gets saline, tar, tobacco, and licorice notes very quickly with great acidity and dryness. Very soft texture and a black bordering on red fruit profile that, in my opinion, completely omits the blueberry fruit spectrum one often finds in South Australian Shiraz. Finishes very strong and has the stuffing to go many, many years. This is my favorite young Aussie Shiraz to date, and it was a fantastic companion to the BBQ ribs I cooked tonight.
