This was really a surprise. When I opened it yesterday and poured it immediately, this was a really soft wine with good cherry and berry, but not much complexity. I actually thought it was only OK. Tonight, the second half of the bottle, after having been in the cellar stoppered, was superb. The wine had developed more layers and it was showing some good amount of tannins and structure. Still good cherry, but very much in an earth and tree bark style with dark fruit. Rich style relative to less hot vintages. Great wine for the money, but probably not for burgundy traditionalists. Ready to go now, but needs a few hours in the decanter.
