2003 Kay Brothers Shiraz Hillside Amery Vineyards (Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale)

Really nice Aussie Shiraz. Far from the typical South Australian Shiraz one tastes a lot. This is deep, dark, but impeccably balanced and elegant at the same time. Has a certain flavor profile that reminds me just a little of older vintages of Penfold's Grange or Jasper Hill Georgia's Paddock. Great fruit, structure, and sense of place. My favorite producer of Australian wine and almost an old-school feel to the wine. As usual, great stuff. As good as this is, the 2002 is even better.
