When I first opened this, it came out of the bottle sweet, flabby, oaky, and dull. The good news is that extended aeration gives this wine incredible lift, acidity, and freshness. Unfortunately, the oaky vanilla isn't going away, and a very noticeable blueberry fruit core has formed that just won't budge. Fruit/carrot cake flavors with some ginger undertones, and smoked meat flavors. This is really in a weird place. If it could go to blackberry or red fruit and lose the vanilla, it could be outstanding. If the blueberry and vanilla keep the upper hand, this will deteriorate into an even bigger mess down the road IMO. I don't have enough experience with this wine to know where this is headed, but this is certainly one of the more cliffhanger-like wines I have ever tasted.
