2004 Fratelli Brovia Nebbiolo d'Alba Valmaggione (Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Nebbiolo d'Alba)

Had this on Monday night at Eleven Madison Park while having dinner with my brother and his significant other. Lovely wine that delivered incredible value. From one of my favorite producers of Barolo, this wine left no doubt that it is cut from the same cloth as Brovia's Barolos. While supremely elegant and nuanced, this wine is at once powerful and impressive. Very floral and earthy flavors and aromas mark this wine along with a very appealing sensation of wet autumn leaves. Plum and crunchy red berry fruit that ia sappy and were the perfect companion with our beef tenderloin "sous vide" and sauce bordelaise.
