2001 Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon (Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River)
Had this wine over the course of a few nights. There seems to be some bottle variation as the last bottle I had showed a lot of oak, but not this one. I opened this to be consumed with steak one night one, and the wine paired well. Although I don't think anyone would mistake this for Bordeaux, it is a very well made wine. Sweet fruit, medium bodied, good freshness. Blackberry and blueberry fruit with some earth and a minor green note. I can see how this could get better with some more bottle age. One can drink it now with some decanting or let it slumber for a few more years. Very nice wine.
