I just re-read my tasting note from August and I am not sure what's happened to this wine. Still a superb Chardonnay in my book, but it's changed character in the last few months it seems. I still detect that nuttiness I have reported before, but it's not fat at all, in fact, I find this refreshing, clean and lean. Much more of a Chablis style than Puligny if I were to try to equate this to Burgundy terms. Finishes strong and extremely long. Still my favorite bottling from the Varner brothers.
