2004 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne (Italy, Piedmont, Alba, Barbera d'Alba)

Dark plummy color that is followed by a doughy nose of dark berries, plum, and a hint of truffle. Great palate with earthiness, tobacco, leather, cherries and currants. Finishes with loads of cherry flavors. Great QPR and highly recommended at the ridiculously low price of $17.

Ebob forumite and Italian wine connoisseur Rico Thompson reviewed the 2004 Vietti Barbera d'Alba Tre Vigne favorably as well earlier in April. Take a look at his tasting note.

If there's a better $17 red wine for old world wine lovers, I don't know what it would be...feel free to let me know.
