2003 Domaine La Millière Châteauneuf-du-Pape Vieilles Vignes (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Audouzed for 30 minutes. Fairly light and completely translucent appearance. Smells pretty good of dried and roasted herbs, hints of licorice, rosemary, lavender, and some kirsch liqueur. Interestingly, there is some odd barnyard funk there that reminds of goat (I know it must sound strange). The palate is very disappointing compared to the aromas. Some kirsch and garrigue, and that's really it already. Finish is medium in length and leaves something to be desired. This is clearly not a great CdP...rather a mediocre to good one. Or, to say it differently, it reminds of a good CdR.

Having said all this, PremierCru is selling this for a laughable $15.99 a bottle right now, and at that price, this a strong buy.
