Another Tavel rose for me and I'm beginning to really like these Tavel roses. This one is a dark rose color for sure. Great and refreshing strawberry and raspberry nose that has a hint of mint to it. Refreshing acidity on the palate with quite a bit of grip for a rose. Not a whimpy rose at all. Finishes well and makes for a great summer time quaffer. I don't think it's as good as the Canto Perdrix, but it is very nice, still.
It's amazing that Tavel seems to not get a lot of press despite being seemingly one of the best (if not the best) rose appellations in France. And the prices are extremely reasonable.
What are your favorite roses and rose appellations?
