Dark ruby red color and interesting and beefy nose of briary forest, milk chocolate, strawberry, rose aromas, and a hint of herbacity (in a good way). Definitely some tobacco on the nose, as well. Really a pretty wine with excellent dry extract, structure, berry fruit, plum, and chocolate on the palate. Finishes very strong. Count me a huge fan of this winery and this wine. It actually reminds me ever so slightly of some of the few 2003 Volnays I've had. The fruit seems to have similar weight and the texture is similar, as well. It does have more fruit right now, but I suspect that differentiation will get less with age. Great stuff.
