Excellent, excellent, excellent. I first had this about 9 months ago and this just keeps getting better. Dark color for Pinot. Fantastic nose with an interesting pine sap, earth, and mentol notes. Tastes as good as it smells. Best thing is that despite ample fruit, this is completely dry, no heat, no candy. This is definitely the best 2004 California Pinot I've had thus far. Sensational and at release price, this was a steal. I can see how a nicely grilled Filet Mignon might be a perfect companion for this wine.
