
It's been nearly 6 months since my last bottle so I figured I'd give this a spin. Open and cellared since last night, the color is an inky dark blue/black. Aromatically, the wine doesn't give up much right now, but I do get some blackberry jam and asphalt. Really a plush and fairly tannic wine on the palate with very good texture and surprisingly ample acidity. Finishes well and goes well with fatty, meaty food like Hamburgers or Bratwursts. Seems to be in an awkward phase right now and I would recommend laying off this bottling for a year or two.
