Casual dinner with a bottle of Clos Roche Blanche

Last night, with a simple dinner of roast pork loin and home-made porcini mushroom risotto (Lydia Bastianich's base recipe adjusted with my own porcini infusion), I opened a bottle of one of my favorite daily drinkers...the 2006 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine Cabernet. As usual, this wine delivered. Great black currant and blackberry fruit with a good dose of barnyard and great acidity. Speaks of its place and for the $16 price tag, this delivers 2 to 3 times the pleasure.
