1979 Château Belair (Dubois-Challon) (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru)

Had this last night with some cheeses. Purchased on auction from Winebid and this bottle was in amazing shape. Cork soaked all the way through and moldy on top, but the wine was in pristine shape (low neck fill). Actually seemed youthful still and gained depth of color and intensity with time in the glass. Showed what I associate with old school aged St. Emilions...truffle, earth, wet autumn leaves, nice dark fruit. Just a lovely wine that I believe will hold many more years.
