2004 Château Pavie Macquin (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru)

Consumed over the course of two days. Unlike the La Confession from a few days earlier, this actually improved significantly from day 1 to day 2. It started out really jammy on day one and lacked a little definition among all the fruit jam. On day two, the nose still showed as fruity, jammy, and simple as on day one, but the wine had changed significantly on the palate. Medium weight with good texture, grippy tannins, nice plum and blackberry fruit and even a touch of earth. Not my favorite St. Emilion Chateau in terms of its style, but it still drank really nicely. Can be opened now, but I think it'll be better in 3-5 years and hold for quite some time beyond that.
