I had this over the last 2 nights, and I was fully prepared to hate it. When I first opened it though, this was fantastic. Massive blackberry fruit, tannins, great freshness, and sensational driness all rolled into one. Finish lasted forever. On night one, this wine was deserving of its lofty RP score for sure. On night two, this had changed. The freshness that was there as a nice balancing agent on day one had receded and the fruit had become sweeter and more plummy. Still drinking nicely, but nowhere near as good as on day one. Having said all that, I am happy to report that this wine was NOT hot, flabby, short, pruny, roasted, or otherwise marred by excessive alcohol and over the top ripeness. Based on my findings, I do think it's best and safest to drink this over the next year or two with a nice steak to capture what makes this wine good. Kind of like a nice California Cab substitute for Bordeaux fans. I just don't know how this will turn out with age, but my multi-day experiment has me concerned about significant ageability.
