1995 Château Batailley (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac)

Very musty aromas and extremely earthy on the palate. Needed quite a bit of air to come alive. Right out of the bottle, I thought the wine was damaged. After about 30-60 minutes, the nose lost the mustiness and the palate gained weight, fruit, and structure. Actually a really nice drink, especially when consumed with New Year's goose, red cabbage, and potato dumplings with goose gravy.
