2002 Château Pradeaux Bandol (France, Provence, Bandol)

Dark plummy and browning color. Seductive nose that shows earth, truffle, blackberry, barnyard/horseyness, and a hint of cassis liqueur. It is rather austere in style and still relatively tannic despite being from a less than ideal vintage and being open for almost 24 hours. Finish goes on and on though and fans of old world wines, especially Piedmont (I find some aromatic similarities), should find this to be a gem. New world fans will likely be disappointed, so I would not recommend this for them.
