First really exciting wine in a while. Popped and poured, but followed over a period of a few hours. Very dark fruit profile that seems like it should have a substantial Mourvedre and Syrah component. Blackberry, plum, five spice, beef jerkey and soy sauce on the nose. Similarly, an Asian spice palate with dark berry and pit fruit and a noticeable pinch of sea salt. Finishes very well and fruit is extremely plush. Lots of density and depth, and the only negative thing to ponder is if the non-Grenache components got a little too much oak, but in totality, this is a great wine that will unquestionably integrate the oak treatment it received with adequate time. This is still years from its peak. I'll open my other bottle in 5 years or later.
