I knew this should be a treat, but this was even better than I thought it would be. What most impressed me about this wine, was that it managed to deliver ripe fruit while maintaining a stern structure, good freshness, and remaining very dry in style. Lots of dark berry fruit meet earthiness, smoked meat, and a certain gaminess (most likely low level Brett), made this a memorable wine. Consumed with dinner, even my wife liked it and she usually isn't a big fan of CdP. Blend is 85% Grenache and rest Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsault. 14.5% alc.
