2000 Cuvée du Vatican Châteauneuf-du-Pape Réserve Sixtine (France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Another 2000 CdP that is beginning to drink well. I thought this was less generous and more closed up than the Lesec, but with some air time, it came around. A brooding, dark, and more modern version of CdP. Grilled meat, black licorice, and camphor. It lacks a little elegance, but it's still a very good wine. I would pair it with some heartier foods.
